Stabbursnes Naturhus og Museum

Museum og besøkssenter

We are a visitor center for Stabbursdalen National Park and an information center for nature and culture in Finnmark.

Our exhibition shows a cross-section of Finnmark’s nature and culture built around the most characteristic types of nature in Finnmark; the plain, the river valleys, the fjords and the coast. The exhibition focuses on how natural conditions have affected people’s way of life.

The film “Blue days and golden nights” is a beautiful tribute to people and nature in the north, and to the wheel of life itself – an eternal cycle from generation to generation, from season to season and from blue days to golden nights.

We have a small museum shop with books, craft products and souvenirs. You can also buy something to bite into.

The outdoor area is arranged with a gamme, low level and fire pit. Two nature trails start from the centre, one for children of approx. 1 km, and a longer one of approx. 6.5 km around Stabbursneset.

It is 8 km to the car park at Lombola, which is a good starting point for trips in Stabbursdalen. The car park is equipped with tables, benches, grills and toilets.
