What is Destinasjon Sápmi?

Destinasjon Sápmi is a unifying platform for the tourism and hospitality businesses in the Sámi core areas of Kautokeino, Karasjok, Tana, Porsanger, and Nesseby. We help local businesses showcase their offerings, enhance their skills, and connect to international markets. Through our work, we ensure sustainable development that promotes cultural heritage and economic growth.

Our Background

Destinasjon Sápmi was established by Sápmi Næringshage in response to the tourism industry’s demand for a strong system to unite and develop the region’s tourism and hospitality sector. Through several destination development projects, it became clear that Sámi businesses needed a platform to support their growth while preserving the unique Sámi cultural heritage. Destinasjon Sápmi is now this platform – a network that brings together actors from across the region to create a vibrant, responsible, and sustainable destination.
