Unique experience with reindeer herders – Spring migration

Reindeer herding is managed by Sami reindeer herders in the traditional way somewhat modernized, and reindeer herders are semi-nomadic to this day. This means that we move with the herd from winter pasture to summer pasture.

We will offer you a unique trip with us to the mountains in fantastic nature where the reindeer herd is, to move the reindeers towards the summer district by the coast. Our winter district is in Kautokeino and we will move the reindeer herd over the tundra all the way to the coast.

You will have the opportunity to live in a traditional lavvu and eat traditional Sami food, which mostly consists of reindeer meat.

The activities consist of, among other things, moving the herd, herding the reindeers, ice fishing and making of Sami meals. But just the stay in the lavvu in total silence with the view of reindeers on snow covered tundra away from stress of sivilication, is a holiday on its own.

Reindeer herders move with snowmobile, but you will have the opportunity to move traditionally with reindeer sledding.
